AB Risk Ltd is the trading name for Andy Brazier. Andy is a risk consultant specialising in human factors, safety, and major hazards. He has extensive experience of dealing with human, organisational and technical factors in an engineering context. Key areas of expertise include incorporating human factors into process plant design, improving safety performance of operating systems and assessing the risks of change. Andy works at all levels of organisations, assessing complex risks and providing practical and effective advice. His recent work has been on gas storage projects, gas terminals, oil and petro-chemical complexes, power generation, steel manufacture and offshore.
Having a Chemical Engineering Degree allows Andy to address the risks encountered in the oil, gas, chemical, steel manufacturing and power industries in a practical and effective manner. Having a PhD (thesis title The Sources of Data for use in Human Factors Studies in the Process Industry) gives him the academic rigour to address complex and ground breaking issues. But it is his practical experience of working as a consultant since 1996 for a wide range of companies that really defines his abilities.
