Who should attend?
In short anyone who is looking to improve their TBTs, basic Communication and Situation Awareness. This training course is designed for everyone across all industries as the fundamentals can be applied to all.
Why should you attend?
You should attend this training course as it is often assumed that if someone is strong technically then they will automatically be good at TBTs or Communication, in general. This is not the case, they are two separate skills. This training course will provide you with the skills to increase your knowledge and confidence during a TBT and other work related activities.
What will you learn?
- The importance of applying the six Non-Technical Skills (especially Communication, Situation Awareness and Stress Management) to the TBT.
- What the most Communication errors are during a TBT and how to resolve them and reduce errors.
- What is Situation Awareness and how to improve during the TBTB and the task.
Expected outcomes
- Understand the importance of the six Non-Technical Skills and how to apply them in the working environment.
- Understand how to ask the correct questions during a TBT to ensure the group/team have a better understanding of the task.
- Understand when to wait/listen to others and when to speak/ask question.
- How to use the correct terminology to ensure everyone has a full understanding of the task.
- Allow people to better knowledge of how we process information and the importance of this during the TBT.
- Increase knowledge and application of Situation Awareness.
- Identify the importance of discussing contingency plans.

Assessment
An assessment of 15 multiple choice questions is at the end of the training. 80% must be achieved to gain a certificate.
