Human factors on display

A new exhibition to mark our 75th anniversary and celebrate human factors opens at the Museum of Making in Derby on 27 September and runs until 22 December. Think Human showcases the prevalence of human factors throughout society, from healthcare to rail, and from workplace environments to sports clothing. It brings together people, products, places and procedures to celebrate a world that’s designed to be both safe and productive, comfortable and enjoyable.

It tells the story of how human factors helped TeamGB win Olympic gold medals, how it helps us navigate the London Underground, and how it helps to deliver the latest cancer treatment. The exhibition aims to draw in young people and their families, inspiring audiences to think about human factors as a future career and study choice. It won’t only highlight the impact human factors has on the world around us but will also shine a spotlight on the people who make that impact happen. We want to celebrate the diversity of the human factors profession, whether that’s the different sectors people work in, or the background and education path they’ve come through to get here.
