How to Think Human

Think Human, the exhibition to celebrate our 75th anniversary is now available to explore online.

The website introduces the science of human factors and systems thinking, and explains the difference it’s made in the world. Using examples and objects from the exhibition’s run at the Museum of Making in Derby, it covers sectors including healthcare, transport, technology and sport. It looks at the people behind the ideas and shines a spotlight on some of the unsung human factors heroes. And it also reveals the potential career paths available for anyone interested in becoming human factors professionals.

The exhibition was a collaboration between the CIEHF, Loughborough University and the Museum of Making. More than 8,000 people visited Think Human when it opened between September 2024 and February 2025. The accompanying Get a Grip schools programme, funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Ingenious Award, welcomed 269 students at 11 workshops run by eight exhibition ambassadors.
