Prioritising patient safety

This week marks World Patient Safety Day, an annual campaign by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness and reduce the risk of harm in the healthcare sector. This year’s global day (17 September) is focused on ‘Patient safety from the start!’, emphasising the need to act early and consistently to prevent harm throughout childhood and throughout life.
