New healthcare resource launches

A new publication is being developed to provide a practical resource for health and social care workers who want to learn more about human factors. The first chapter of the publication – called Making Human Factors and Ergonomics Work in Health and Social Care – can be downloaded for free. The second chapter will be available soon.

The guide aims to give practical advice to people leading and implementing human factors programmes and interventions, and also complements our Healthcare Learning Pathway. The opening chapter explains what human factors is, how practitioners work, what to look at in a healthcare work system and how human factors approaches improve outcomes.

The full book is still being developed and the authors are keen to gather feedback from readers about the first chapter.
