Join our celebrations
Submissions are now open for a special edition of the Ergonomics journal marking the 75th anniversary of the CIEHF.
The Institute began life in 1949 as the Ergonomics Research Society, the first professional body of its kind in the world. Since then, it’s grown from strength to strength as the discipline has evolved to reflect the changing ways we live and work.
The anniversary journal will celebrate the past, present and future of human factors with articles reflecting past achievements as well as the predicted trends of tomorrow. If you want to shine a spotlight on any little-known historical work that deserves a wider audience or look back on major shifts in human factors, then this is the perfect place.
The journal is also keen to receive submissions for articles addressing current challenges, as well as ones that draw on the past to anticipate the future and what could lie ahead in the next 75 years.
The deadline for manuscripts is 31 December. You can find out more about the special edition and how to submit on the journal's web page.
Help us inspire the next generation of ergonomists by supporting our 75th Anniversary Exhibition: ‘Think Human'. Hosted at Derby’s Museum of Making, Think Human will engage more than 25,000 museum visitors in the world of ergonomics, showcasing how it makes a real impact on their everyday lives.
The exhibition, which runs from September to December 2024, will also explore human factors in transport, healthcare, sports and leisure, artificial intelligence and more.
Do you have an item that illustrates what human factors is all about? We need your help to develop content that will feature within the exhibition – to show and inspire the next generation.
If you think you’ve got something that could help, be it physical, digital or knowledge based, find out more about how you can help and submit an Expression of Interest.
