Introducing our new CEO
We’re delighted to introduce the CIEHF’s new CEO, Ben Peachey. Ben is a strategy and stakeholder engagement specialist and ex-BBC journalist with more than fifteen years’ senior management experience in member associations.
He led the development and rollout of the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation (EO) strategic plan, including new brand positioning, visual identity and purpose, ambition and values. Before joining EO, he ran his own communications consultancy advising companies and multi-stakeholder organisations on sustainable development issues. And he also spent nearly ten years at the International Council on Mining and Metals, where he was responsible for developing and implementing the organisation’s communications strategy.
Ben, who started his role on 12 September, said: “I’m looking forward to meeting members and finding out how I can help them on their journey as ergonomics and human factors professionals. I’ve worked in member organisations for many years and I continue to do it because I love helping others. What’s great about joining the Institute is that it’s serving a membership whose careers are all about helping others and making their lives easier.
He added: “All professional bodies need to continue evolving so they remain relevant and effective bodies for their members and they continue to deliver value. We’re in a tough economic environment, both in the UK and elsewhere. But this provides a real opportunity for ergonomics and human factors specialists to find more ways to deliver value in the sectors that they all work in. I’m really looking forward to working with members to see how the organisation can support them and grow the profession.”
Look out for a profile of Ben in the next issue of The Ergonomist, out in December.
