Connect with new thinking
The full programme for Ergonomics & Human Factors 2026 has been revealed – and it’s packed with inspiration, insight and innovation. The conference, which runs from 27-29 April in Nottingham, will showcase the latest thinking and breakthroughs and explore how cutting-edge research is being turned into practical real-world applications.
We’re really excited about our keynote line-up this year. Fresh from the amazing team success at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Performance Director Nat Dunman and elite Skeleton athlete Amelia Coltman offer a rare, real-time view into the design and operation of an Olympic-level socio-technical system.
We also can’t wait to hear from Russell Porter, Head of New User Engagement at NATS with expertise in aviation, safety and future technologies, leads UK efforts on sustainable drone operations and the decarbonisation of flight. Professor Lucy Easthope is the UK’s leading voice in emergency planning. She challenges how we recover from disaster and what future readiness actually means. And with 25+ years in occupational psychology, stress, fatigue and performance under pressure, Professor Fiona Earle brings deep insight into the realities of work and wellbeing.
There’ll be plenty of valuable opportunities for debate, discussion, networking and high-quality CPD. And there’s time for relaxation during the event too, with celebratory awards and dinner, drinks reception and social sessions.
This year’s conference theme is ‘Adapting to the Future’ and Professor Paul Salmon will lead a special session on future strategy for human factors. We’ll also be bringing the theme to life by partnering with the University of Nottingham to offer exclusive access to their cutting-edge VR suite and car simulator.
Speakers from medical devices, aviation and defence to healthcare, construction and emergency services will discuss what’s happening in their sectors. And domains including AI, design, tools and technology are also covered in the dozens of papers presented during the three-day event.
There will also be six two-hour Masterclasses to help you enhance your knowledge and skills through expert-led sessions. These include Work Domain Analysis, Physical Ergonomics and Human Supervisory Control.
