This free webinar from the CIEHF’s Defence Sector Group provides you with an overview of human factors challenges facing designers of some of the most complex military fighting vehicles in service today.

You’ll hear about case studies used to analyse some of the key challenges including physical workstation design, the design of controls and displays and habitability. Designing for a diverse range of body shapes and sizes within the limited space available in military land vehicles is a key challenge and an important theme.

You’ll also find out about the future of military land vehicle design in the context of the changing face of warfighting and developments in technologies for Human-Computer Interaction.

About the presenters

  • Rob Cummings is the Human Factors Integration Practice Lead at the MOD’s Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) establishment. He has many years of experience in the design of Military Land Systems, from both an industrial and an MOD perspective.
  • Trevor Dobbins is a Human Factors Engineer with many years’ experience of maritime and land vehicle design. He is the Human Factors Integration Lead in Rheinmetall BAE Systems Ltd (RBSL).
  • Ryan Meeks is an experienced Human Factors Consultant who is currently supporting RBSL in the design of one of the most challenging Military Fighting Vehicles.
