Whilst this is a diverse industry, many human factors professionals often work in isolation from each other, so sharing ideas and experiences is not only an important part of Continuing Professional Development, it’s crucial to the success of the discipline within the nuclear industry as a whole.
For this reason, the CIEHF's Nuclear Sector Group aims to:
- Promote the discipline of human factors within the nuclear industry.
- Provide a forum for human factors professionals in the nuclear industry to exchange experiences and ideas on the work they do.
- Be a point of contact for those from outside the discipline to learn more about the role human factors plays within the nuclear industry, including advice on how to develop new skills in human factors.
The Group have been holding regular events since 2008, either as a small Regional Group event of a few hours or a larger day-long seminar, and we are planning to hold virtual meet-ups soon.
If you would like to get involved with driving the Group's direction, if you have thoughts about human factors within the nuclear industry, or if you have an idea for an event, please join the group. The Group has its own online Nuclear Sector Group Community space, where all members can post ideas and comments, take part in discussions, and upload useful resources. You can set notifications of new posts to come straight to your inbox in a daily digest. It's a great way to stay in touch.
